to further knowledge on natural and anthropogenic processes influencing and influenced by mountain environments
to continue ongoing long-term scientific surveys aimed at consolidating, completing and expanding unique Himalayan datasets
to protect and valorize the biodiversity of these mountain ecosystems
to promote and protect mountain cultures, in particular those at risk or unknown cultures typical of Asia’s mountain areas
to develop new clean and sustainable technologies to be used in mountain environments
to make the Pyramid International Laboratory-Observatory available for use by international researchers
to supply technical, logistic and organizational support in mountain areas, particularly the Himalayas and Karakorum, or in other remote areas of the Earth
to promote development, capacity building and technical/scientific training to the benefit of local mountain populations
to develop awareness-raising initiatives on mountain research and on mountains in general.
