Silvano Cavalli

Silvano Cavalli was born in Milan on November 1949, the 14th.
He took bachelor degree in Chemistry in 1970 and PhD in Food Science and Technology in 1980 by the Università degli Studi of Milan.
He developed skill in different sectors of  instrumental analytics such as GC, IR, NMR, HPLC, electron microscopy and ion chromatography thanks to the experiences acquired working for Carlo Erba Strumentazione, Pierrel, Istituto di Farmacologia dell’Università di Milano, DISI italia, Pilla and Dionex.
From 1995 to 2002 he was the Director and Scientific Committee member of  the “Ion Chromatography School” held by the University of Turin. Starting 2002 he is professor by the post-doctoral specialization school on  “Chemical methods for control and analysis” part of  “ Analytical Chemistry for Separations” module held in the University of Padua. His scientific competence is mainly related to the application of instrumental analysis to environmental, food & beverage, and industrial market segments.
At present is Marketing Development Manager for Special Projects by Dionex (Europe) Management.
In 1992 he participated to scientific expedition to EvK2CNR Pyramid at 5050 m s.l.m. in Nepal for the implementation of innovative instrumental analytical techniques.
Starting 1990 he participated to many Italian and international congresses and symposia with oral presentations or posters. He was author or co-author of more than 50 articles on peer-reviewed international journals and author or editor of six books about environmental monitoring and ion chromatography.
