19-01-07 IsIAO and Karakorum Trust together in the SWAT

 VIENNA, Austria -- The conference in the within of the “Platform for Interdisciplinary Research and Documentation of Inner and South Asian Cultural History� has been hosted, some days before, at the Geography Institute of the University of Vienna. The dr. Luca Maria Olivieri - Archaeologist of Italian Institute for Africa and the East (IsIAO) - has attended at the meeting for introducing the IsIAO work in course in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Ev-K²-CNR Committee.

     

Many have been  the amble of research deepened in the Vienna platform and a particulary attention has been attributed from Dr. Olivieri to the importance of the activities realized in the within of the Ev-K²-CNR Project "Karakorum Trust".

A remarkable interest has provoked the project between the present, including the responsible of the platform, Prof. Deborah Klimburg-Salter and the celebrates tibetologies Heinz Steinkellern and Helmut H. Tauscher.

In particular, the presentation of Dr. Olivieri, entitled "Swat and Beyond", has explained the activities plans of the Italian mission in Pakistan, in the area of the Swat (photo). A part of the exposure has been dedicated at the report of  the field  work, carried out in of August 2006 in the Shigar Valley, in collaboration with Maurizio Gallo, Chief Technical Advisor of the Karakorum Trust project.

The intense scientific activity of IsIAO is representative of the particularly profitable moment crossed in Pakistan, than its the consequence also of the collaboration with the Ev-K²-CNR Committee, in the within of the Karakorum Trust project.
